Climate Woke from The Center for Cultural Power
The Center for Cultural Power is looking for proposals for video projects at the intersection of the climate crisis and social justice. Five artists will receive $1,500 to realize their works, which can be in any discipline as long as there is a video component.

Toi Gallery’s Annual Art Contest
Toi Gallery’s Annual Art Contest is open to international artists at the beginning of their careers. The winner will receive a six-month to a one-year contract with the gallery and 40% of net sales of their works.
Deadline: 12 a.m. on October 20, 2021.
Elizabeth R. Raphael Founder’s Prize from Contemporary Craft
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Contemporary Craft is hosting an open call for a juried exhibition, and one winner will receive a $5,000 prize in honor of the organization’s founder.
Deadline: October 22, 2021.
The Other Art Fair Melbourne
The Other Art Fair is looking for artists to exhibit in person at its Melbourne event next May. Sign up for its newsletter to stay up-to-date with application deadlines for fairs in Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, London, Los Angeles, Sydney, and Toronto.

Grants, Residencies, & Fellowships
Residencies for Architects, Artists, and Writers at Art Omi
Applications are open for Art Omi’s three residencies in architecture, art, and writing. Located in Columbia County, New York, each program brings together a group of creatives for cultural exchange, experimentation, and critical evaluation.
Deadline: October 15, 2021.
The Next Collective from Everlane
The clothing brand Everlane launched its first fellowship program dedicated to making the fashion industry more sustainable. Open to U.S. applicants, the Next Collective is looking for ideas to reduce virgin plastic use and will award up to five recipients a $20,000 grant and mentorship with the industry experts.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 18, 2021.
The Carmignac Photojournalism Award
The 12th edition of the Carmignac Photojournalism Award centers around the social, economic, and ecological crises impacting life in Venezuela. It will award one photographer from anywhere in the world a €50,000 grant to support a six-month reporting residency running from January to June 2022 with the Fondation Carmignac, along with a traveling exhibition of the works produced and a monograph.
Deadline: Midnight GMT on October 18, 2021.
The Recharge New Surrealist Prize
U.S. painters, including students in BFA or MFA programs, who are working in the New Surrealist style are eligible for a $7,000 award from The New York Foundation for the Arts.
Deadline: 5 p.m. EDT on October 19, 2021.
Artistic Production Grants from Via Art Fund
Twice each year, Via Art Fund awards individual artists, nonprofits, and institutions $25,000 to $100,000 grants for public projects or works completed in nontraditional spaces. Applications are open for the Spring 2022 cycle, with letters of inquiry due this month.
Deadline: October 25, 2021.
Dry Tortugas National Park Artist-in-Residence Program
Open to visual artists, writers, musicians, and performers, the Dry Tortugas National Park Artist-in-Residence Program will host recipients in September 2023. The chosen artist will spend one month in the historical lighthouse keeper’s house on the islet surrounded by a tropical landscape and the endangered Loggerhead turtle nesting grounds.
Deadline: November 15, 2021.
Win a Book Deal with Walter Foster
Walter Foster is looking for submissions for instructional art and craft books and will award one creative an opportunity to publish a beginner’s text. Applicants must live in the U.S. and can work across media, from fine art to embroidery to block printing.
Deadline: December 31, 2021.
Creative Capital’s Wild Futures 2023/2024
During a two-year period, Creative Capital will award 100 artists up to $50,000 each, with additional advisory services per project. 2023 is open to performing arts, technology, and literature, and 2024 is seeking visual arts and moving image/film. Attend an information session on Oct. 8 for more on the application process.
Deadline: April 1, 2022, for 2023 applicants.
The New Museum’s Sculpture Award for Women
The New Museum announced that it’s launching one of the world’s largest art prizes in 2022, and during ten years, it will commission five women to produce new sculptures with a $400,000 award. Details haven’t been announced yet, but the museum says a nomination period will happen early next year.
