The “green residence” entitles the owner to five years of visa-free residency in the nation.

The source emphasised that the green residence visa, which is given to skilled workers for a period of five years, and the last type of residence visa for work, which is given to employees of domestic services or domestic workers, are the three types of residence visas for work. The normal work visa is given to foreigners working in the private, public, and free zone sectors.

She went on to say that the green residence for the purpose of employment, a type of residence visa introduced in 2021, enables its holder to live in the nation for a period of five years without the need for a sponsor, host, or guarantor who is also an employer, and the residence is renewable after it expires.

A Green Residence Visa can be requested by qualified workers, independent contractors, and private businesses.

She said that in order to qualify for a green residency visa, independent contractors and small business owners must fulfil the following criteria: obtaining self-employment or private work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization; the minimum educational need is a bachelor’s degree, specialist diploma, or its equivalent, not an associate’s degree; The applicant has demonstrated his financial stability throughout his stay in the nation, or his self-employment income for the previous two years was less than 360,000 dirhams or its equivalent in other currencies.

A skilled worker must meet the following conditions in order to be granted a green residence visa so they can work, she continued:

The minimum educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, and you must be a skilled worker at the first, second, or third professional level of the occupational classification approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. However, your monthly salary cannot be less than 15,000 dirhams or its equivalent in foreign currencies.

When it comes to renewing the green residency, the digital government stated that it is possible to do so for the same length of time.

Regarding the standard work visa, the digital government said that foreigners who work in the private sector or in the sector can acquire a standard work visa in the UAE, which is typically valid for two years.
