UAE minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak opens World Policy Conference in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, UAE tolerance and coexistence minister, officially opened on Friday the World Policy Conference in Abu Dhabi.

During an earlier session, Josep Borrell, the high representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, spoke about the Lebanese crisis.

He said only the political class in the country can provide solutions to its issues, adding that since the Beirut port explosion he and French president Emmanuel Macron had been pushing them to act and face up to the challenges.

On behalf of Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, deputy minister for foreign affairs Waleed Elkhereiji, conveyed the Kingdom’s congratulations to the UAE on its 50th national day, the inauguration of Expo 2020 in Dubai as well as organizing the 14th World Policy Conference.
