UAE temporarily provides COVID-19 vaccines only to elderly, people with chronic disease

DUBAI: The UAE will dedicate all coronavirus vaccination centers to the elderly and patients with chronic diseases for up to six weeks as numbers of infections in the country continue to climb, state news agency WAM reported.
The health ministry said people in other categories may still get vaccinated after prior appointment with the centers across the country.
Earlier on Saturday, Abu Dhabi reduced attendance at the workplace in government and semi government institutions to 30 percent.
The Department of Government Support approved the decision to bolster COVID-19 precautionary measures implemented in the emirate, according to Abu Dhabi Media Office.
Weekly PCR tests will also be compulsory for all employees, it added.
The UAE has so far recorded 323,402 infections, 301,081 recoveries and 914 deaths after confirming 3,276 new cases, 4,041 recoveries and 12 deaths overnight.
