The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has ordered the provision of additional humanitarian relief aid worth $100 million to Ukrainians affected by the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said that the relief aid aims to help Ukrainians affected by war and conflict. The aid portrays His Highness’s interest in human solidarity, especially in times of war and conflict.
Al Hashimy remarked that the aid also highlights the UAE’s role in mitigating the humanitarian impact of the Ukraine crisis. The latest aid came in response to the United Nations Flash Appeal and the Regional Refugee Response Plan from Ukraine.
In recent months, the UAE planes carried medical aid and tonnes of emergency health aid to Ukrainian refugees in Poland and Moldova in response to the urgent United Nations’ appeal and the regional refugee response plan in Ukraine. Salem A. Al-Kaabi, the UAE‘s Ambassador to Ukraine, said that the UAE’s aid helped Ukrainians in European countries.
